Besides being an online class delivery shell for Kentucky secondary students, KVHS provides 7-week professional development classes for a small stipend, and taught by Kentucky teachers and educational professionals. Each Year KVHS offers several classes which begin with workshops at KTLC - register on that site for these ticketed workshops.

Summer Opportunities TECTechnology Enhanced Classroom (Central Kentucky Region 5 only)

This one day conference (a second half-day workshop is available for technology resource teachers) will be held at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Lexington, on June 2nd. It is grant funded and free to teachers within Region 5, with free software offered as an incentive for attendance. TEC is still accepting teachers and educational professionals from within Region 5 to present, with a stipend offered.

Bluegrass Writing ProjectBluegrass Writing Project

This venerable summer program (in its 18th year!) is offered in collaboration with the University of Kentucky and associated with the National Writing Project. It pays a stipend, and offers graduate credit, for an intensive four week summer program aimed at the teaching of writing in K-12. Application deadline is March 8th. There are also workshops available through March (contact outreach coordinator Ann Robbins for information).
